UN’s former secretary-general Kofi Annan dies in Switzerland

According to media news, UN’s former secretary general Kofi Annan passed away in Switzerland. He was 80 years of age, he passed away peacefully after a short illness. He was the first black African to become UN secretary-general.

He was awarded the Noble Peace Prize in 2001 for helping to revitalise the international body UN.

Reportedly the world leaders sent condolences to his family, said media news report.
